This month’s Resident of the Month is Joe N. Joe grew up in Hemlock, Michigan, a small suburb in Saginaw County. He first worked at Saginaw Hardware and through a series of company buy-outs made his way to Cleveland, where he worked for hardware wholesaler and distributor George Worthington Co. The company started in Cleveland in 1829 when the Ohio & Erie Canal was being built and grew with the start of the railroad system. Joe said his role was as a Product Manager and that he was involved with purchasing paint and other hardware items.
Joe eventually took another job which required him to drive from his home in Bay Village to Mansfield and back each day. He said despite his long drive, he never missed a day of work, even in snowy weather! Throughout his work and travels, Joe always loved finding “small world” moments – like the time he ran into a high school classmate at a Trade Show in Chicago, or met fellow Bay Village residents up in Michigan.
Joe was married for 28 years before his wife Carol passed away. He has two daughters, Janet and Cynthia. Joe is also an Army Veteran. He served for 3 years, spending time in Grand Rapids and going overseas to Germany.
In his free time, Joe stayed active playing tennis, golf, softball, and bowling. He also enjoyed fishing and pheasant hunting. His family had a cottage in Michigan where they spent many weekends. Joe had an interest in photography as well – he took pictures of his family and took new member photos for the directory at his church, Prince of Peace in Westlake.
Here at O’Neill Healthcare, Joe likes to keep busy with exercise, Bingo, and other activities. His family visits often as well. Thanks for sharing your story with us, Joe. We are happy to have you here! ... See MoreSee Less

This month we have TWO Employees of the Month –Unit Managers Savannah L. and Erica N. They both work hard every day, but went above and beyond last month while our DON was out of the building. They stepped up and took on additional responsibilities to ensure we maintained a high quality of care for our residents.
Savannah worked her way from STNA to LPN to RN over the years. She has been with O’Neill Healthcare Bay Village since 2012 and has been the Unit 1 Manager since April 2021. She said she likes the family atmosphere and the compassionate people. In her free time, Savannah likes to go on vacation, do crafts, and decorate her house. She has 3 kids – 1 boy and 2 girls.
Erica has been here seven years and worked as a Unit Manager for four. Erica started as an aide and worked “almost every position” over the course of her healthcare career including Dietary and Activities. She has been a Nurse for 31 years now! She said she likes the longevity of the staff here and their dedication to the residents. Outside of work, Erica enjoys spending time with her 2 kids and 3 granddaughters. They like to bake and garden with her.
Thank you BOTH for all you do! Your hard work does not go unnoticed! ... See MoreSee Less

Our Rising Star this month is maintenance Assistant Larry S. Larry joined the O’Neill Healthcare Bay Village team mid-November, bringing years of Maintenance experience with him! He previously worked at Center North in Lakewood for 16 years and The North Point Office Building and Tower downtown for seven.
Larry was nominated for being a conscientious worker and being attentive to the needs of the residents and the facility. Larry is very self-motivated and comes in each day ready to work! He said he enjoys the job, and the people here are great!
In his free time, Larry enjoys working in his yard, playing golf, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He is also active in his church, Cleveland Baptist Church. He helps with the audiovisual ministry, working on the sound and making sure the Pastor’s microphone is set for virtual services.
Thank you, Larry, for all you do here at O’Neill Healthcare Bay Village. Keep up the great work! ... See MoreSee Less
