O’Neill Healthcare is a VA-contracted provider committed to serving Veterans and their families. Veterans and their spouses may qualify for VA benefits that cover skilled nursing, assisted living, or hospice care. Through the Aid & Attendance pension benefit, eligible Veterans and surviving spouses can receive monthly financial support to help with care costs. Our team can assist with the application process to ensure you receive the maximum benefits available.
Skilled Nursing Benefits
Many veterans qualify for care that is fully or partially covered by the U.S. Department of Veterans
Affairs.
- Community Nursing Home Program: Eligible veterans who require ongoing medical care may have the full cost of skilled nursing covered by the VA.
- Short-Term Rehab Coverage: Veterans recovering from surgery, illness, or injury may receive skilled care for rehabilitation stays.
- Private Room Availability: Veterans at O’Neill Healthcare will have priority access to private rooms within our VA contracted buildings.
- Respite Care: Qualified Veterans who meet clinical requirements for assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) may receive respite care or assistance through the VA-Caregiver Support Program in a skillled nursing facility.
Hospice & Palliative Care Benefits
- VA-Covered Hospice Services: Hospice care is available to veterans through care coordination with the VA or for those that have an active Medicare benefit. Please contact O’Neill Healthcare or your associated VA for additional details.
- Specialized Support for Veterans: Hospice professionals receive training to meet veteran specific needs. Providing emotional and spiritual support in relation to their military experience.
- Additional Living Options: Veterans that are not service connected are also able to reside in our contracted Skilled Nursing Facilities if receiving hospice care approved by the VA.
Assisted Living Benefits
- Reduced Living Rates with Aid & Attendance Pension Benefit: Veterans and surviving spouses enrolled with a preferred home health provider may qualify for discounted rates to offset monthly costs.
