At O’Neill Healthcare Hospice, our mission goes beyond providing exceptional clinical care—we are dedicated to supporting our patients and their families during some of life’s most challenging times. One way we do this is through our Moments of Joy program, an initiative devoted to creating meaningful experiences and lasting memories for those we care for.
Recently, we had the privilege of honoring our patient, Frank, with a very special Moment of Joy outing.
Frank grew up in Pennsylvania before settling in Strongsville, OH, where he has lived for over 30 years and has been married to his wife, Juanita, for more than 40 years. A proud Veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force, Frank has always had a deep love for baseball. He rarely misses a Cleveland Guardians game on the radio, and he never thought he’d make it back to the ballpark in person.
As our team discovered Frank’s passion for the game, we knew exactly how to create his Moment of Joy. In July, we were thrilled to take Frank and his family to a Cleveland Guardians game. It was a perfect summer day in the sunshine with great food and company. Together, we enjoyed hot dogs, ice cream, laughter, and even surprise visits from Slider and the other mascots.
Watching Frank in the ballpark, surrounded by his loved ones, was a reminder of what Moments of Joy are all about—creating memories that bring comfort and happiness to our patients and their family members.
As a family-owned and operated company with more than 60 years of experience, O’Neill Healthcare Hospice understands the importance of caring for the whole family, not just the patient. Programs like Moments of Joy enable us to honor our patients’ stories and interests, celebrate their passions, and provide families with cherished moments to remember.
Our Moments of Joy events are made possible through the generous donations and support of our Moments of Joy Fund, and we would like to thank all donors for their contributions. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Cleveland Guardians for creating such a memorable experience—highlighting Frank’s name on the jumbotron and ensuring he had a great day at the ballpark.
